BANDIT OF THE DAY #8 : DEE INCA
NAME , CREWS, BACKGROUND :
I write Dee inca / Cain one and I’m from the Netherlands.
1ST PIECE (where and when) :
1989, on the back of a public library somewhere in a small village. Still remember the smell of the cans I used because it was such an intense experience.
Strange phenomenon. Still don’t completely understand why I’m doing this. It doesn’t really make sense in the world outside. Escapism for the most part I think.
It’s also a weird paradox since creativity should have no limits yet we all more or less follow an unwritten code from the early New York era when it comes to style, aesthetics and legibility.
In the end I really like the surprise of the outcome of the day because it can all be so unpredictable, which is good.
The source for entertainment, information and communication. Graffiti wise it has had a big influence on the globalization of the movement, with a minor downside that I think it has in some cases made local styles and scenes disappear. On the up side, theres so much daily inspiration from around the globe you wouldn’t have seen otherwise.
DRINK AND FOOD :
Dedicate yourself. There are no free rides.
Currently: Clark (Warp), Moderat, Weval, Oscar & the wolf.
Any day, any time: anything from the 80’s.
So many but Breaking Bad really made a long lasting impression.
Hate. Does that make me a hater?
