STREET THEORY BOSTON

MADE IN HARVARD, SORT OF...

Good news! This weekend, we’re bringing our street PhD to Boston for the STREET THEORY group show. If you’re in the area, swing by and witness some higher education in graffiti.

Fun fact: The event will take place at the American Express Travel storefront,
📍 39 JFK Street, Cambridge, MA—aka, dangerously close to Harvard University.

Not bad for a bunch of so-called bandits. Who knew we’d make it to Harvard before actually applying?

Check out more details below.

Cheers,
Your favorite unaccredited professors of street art. 😎🎓

STREET THEORY – MADE IN HARVARD, CERTIFIED BY THE STREETS

Last December, while real Harvard students were buried under a mountain of books, frantically cramming for their finals, we, 123Klan, decided to write our own thesis—one made of spray paint, bold lines, and unapologetic street attitude.

Invited by Street Theory, we landed in Boston ready to drop some knowledge—not in lecture halls, but straight onto the walls. Some might say we were there for an exhibition, but let’s be honest: this was nothing short of a full-on academic experiment in graffiti, urban influence, and the fine art of bending the rules.

DOCTORATES IN TAGOLOGY & MASTER’S IN SPRAY-CHITECTURE

Harvard may have centuries of academic prestige, but we brought our own curriculum:
🔹 Typography 101 – Wildstyle, balance, color theory, and how to make letters dance.
🔹 Urban Chemistry – Observing the magical reaction between a blank wall and a can of spray paint.
🔹 Sociology of Graffiti – Watching pedestrians pause, analyze, and (sometimes) try to decode the hieroglyphics of hip-hop culture.
🔹 Advanced Mathematics – Because spacing, angles, and perfect symmetry don’t just happen by chance.

We were basically teaching a masterclass—Harvard just didn’t know it yet.

HARVARD CAMPUS WASN’T READY FOR 123KLAN

If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s that graffiti and academia rarely go hand in hand. Yet, Street Theory managed to bridge that gap, proving that street art belongs in the intellectual conversation just as much as any highbrow museum piece.

Still, we left with a few regrets:
1️⃣ No honorary degrees were handed out (seriously, Harvard, step up your game).
2️⃣ We couldn’t “borrow” a Harvard podium for future graffiti TED Talks (too heavy to run with).
3️⃣ We forgot to print fake diplomas reading “Certified Doctor of Graffology, Magna Cum Sprayde”.

But hey, there’s always next semester.

CONCLUSION: GRAFFITI 1 – IVY LEAGUE 0

We left Boston with painted walls, full archives, and the undeniable proof that art doesn’t need a classroom—it just needs a surface. Next stop? Another unsuspecting elite university. MIT? Stanford? Oxford? Hit us up, we’re ready to disrupt.

Until then, if anyone knows where to get a fake Harvard student ID for academic purposes, slide into our DMs.

“STREET THEORY” TAKES OVER HARVARD SQUARE For one weekend only starting December 9th, an exclusive street art showcase will debut in Harvard Square at 5pm. Renown artists 123Klan, Victor “Marka27” Quiñonez, Problak, Imagine876, and Percy Fortini-Wright will occupy and transform the former and soon-to-be-demolished American Express Travel storefront to reveal to both art aficionados and the general public alike the very definition of genuine street culture.

Street Theory is a carefully curated pop-up exhibition of installation art, artists’ signings, live painting, and the sale of exclusive prints and your favorite goods!
